Assignment Overview
“Depth of field allows a photographer to draw the attention of the viewer to a specific object or point within the frame or, conversely, allow all objects within the frame to be in focus. For this project, you are to create a series of images that show the differences between shallow and deep depth of field.”
For this assignment, I was really trying not only to create really good images that showcased the different fields of depth that were required for the project, but also to create a piece that had an interesting artistic intent behind it. After some trials and errors, I convinced my close friend to be my model for my images, and I decided to really showcase a particular concept: Showcasing the act of admiring the beauty in life while also still showcasing the weight of reality around my close friend. I really wanted to dive into the weight aspect of the concept because we are college students, and being in college brings a lot of different challenges on a day-to-day basis. Overall, I was really proud of how this image came out, and I was extremely grateful for the way that it was perceived.
