Assignment Overview
“Create a movie poster from a selected genre using the photobashing tools located in Photoshop.”
For this assignment, due to the amount of freedom we had at the time, I really wanted to take this project than what was expected. After choosing my genre and creating a concept behind the movie, I went through several different compositions regarding my handling of the typography and the general layout of the poster. Through some much-needed critiques and some helpful tips regarding Photoshop, I finally settled on a design I was extremely happy to showcase to my class.
Here is a synopsis of the movie:
No matter who looks through the mirror, they are all the same – making the same mistake he so desperately tries to escape. Will they finally learn their lessons and become one with the stars or will the weight of the celestial bodies come crashing down on them once and for all?
Same Ol’ Mistakes is a Psychological and Sci-fi Horror movie revolving around the idea of self-acceptance, self-growth, and facing dark truth all while trying to avoid the all consuming void that is death. The movie follows three individual versions of one person, each with their own personality and set of challenges. They exist in their own worlds but the same world all at the same time; different stages in the person’s life. To prevent the world as they know it from ending, the different versions must unite and face the impending doom as one, while also being hunted down by their past mistakes. (In the end, they win and they all learn to go and accept the existence of each other )
